LPR prosecutors hold 773 officials responsible for violating residents’ rights
LUGANSK, July 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic prosecutors held 773 officials responsible in the first half of the year for violating citizens’ rights, the Republic’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
“The measures taken by the Republic’s prosecutor’s offices in the first six months of 2018 towards supervising compliance with the law helped achieve certain positive results aimed at strengthening the rule of law. The main efforts are focused on protecting citizens’ constitutional rights and the Republic’s economic interests,” the PGO said.
Over the reporting period, 773 officials including 66 representatives of government supervisory bodies were disciplined on the strength of 568 statements issued by LPR prosecutors. Fifty-one illegal acts were exposed and more than 681.2 million rubles reimbursed including 674.2 million rubles worth of backpay. Forty criminal cases were filed, it added.
