LPR prolongs World Trade Union Federation membership
LUGANSK, September 9 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic Trade Union Federation (FP) prolonged its membership in the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) in the course of the 3rd international solidarity forum in Syria currently taking place in Damascus.
“The Federation extended its membership in the WFTU during the third international solidary forum in Syria,” LPR FP chairman Oleg Akimov said. “We are happy that we can officially remain members of the WFTU which brings together more than 126 countries in all spheres of activity.”
“Our joint work will be more vigorous and effective. Membership in this international association allows us have our say from an international platform and tell the truth about the situation in the Republic. The joint events we planned will help us promote our activity internationally. The WFTU is an excellent platform to be heard by the whole world,” he said.
Akimov thanked his international colleagues for their solidarity and support during the five years of the LPR’s existence.
Earlier, LPR FP representative Andrey Kochetov made a speech at the opening of the 3rd international trade union forum on solidary with Syrian residents and workers against economic sanctions and imperialist intervention.
In September 2017, Kochetov took part in the international trade union conference on solidarity with Syrian workers and residents in the fight against terrorism, economic sanctions and international interventions.
