LPR poultry farms cover 100 pc of egg demand
LUGANSK, March 16 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR poultry farms have secured stable supplies of chicken eggs across LPR to meeting the 100 percent of demand, said the acting minister of agriculture Yuri Pronko.
He said that the poultry farming development is gaining pace.
"We meet home demand for eggs by almost 100 percent. Poultry farms producing meat are also building up, currently Agroptakha and AgroYug companies are the largest."
He said the livestock of cattle, pigs and sheep showed a small growth ranging from 1 to 7 percent.
"We are also negotiating a rabbit farm opening with an investor," Pronko said.
As of October 2015 republican poultry farms covered only 42 percent of egg demand.
