LPR People’s Militia rolls out vaccination to service members
LUGANSK, February 10 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The LPR People’s Militia has begun vaccinating service members against COVID-19, said LPR People's Militia press officer Yakov Osadchiy.
“To fight the spread of the coronavirus infection, vaccination is ongoing in the units of the People’s Militia. The personnel also regularly undergoes testing for the virus. Army health workers and service members on combat duty are prioritized,” the report reads.
The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the DPR on January 30. Next shipments are expected soon.
Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world. The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V after the first Soviet space satellite. Vaccine’s efficacy is confirmed at 91.4%. *ot
