LUGANSK, April 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) - LPR People’s Militia and International Committee of the Red Cross representatives put up “Danger, Mines” signs in the vicinity of the Stanitsa Luganskaya crossing point, LPR People’s Militia’s spokesman Andrey Marochko said.
The LPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination helped install the billboards, Marochko said.
“Today, People’s Militia, with the assistance of the LPR Mission to the JCCC and the ICRC regional branch put up a number of signs warning about mine danger,” he said.
Three billboards were installed in the pilot action, the spokesman added.
Local Red Cross representative Sergey Kravchenko said that similar billboards would be installed in other areas along the contact line.
“Today, the Red Cross puts up mine danger billboards for the people coming to the Stanitsa Luganskaya crossing point to know that they should observe safety measures and that they mustn’t drive off the road," Kravchenko said.
The installation of billboards is timed with International Mine Awareness Day proclaimed by the UN General Assembly and marked on April 4, the Local Red Cross representative said.
