LPR pays benefits to some 420 residents of Kiev-held areas
LUGANSK, July 10 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Some 420 Lugansk region residents have received one-time payments as part of the welfare programme for certain groups of the population living in Ukraine-controlled Donbass areas, the Lugansk People’s Republic Ministry of Labour and Social Policy reported.
The LPR began to make payments on February 20 under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme, the Ministry said.
“As of July 10 morning, the number of people from Kiev-held areas of the Lugansk region who received Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme aid had reached 416,” the report said.
Sixty-nine World War II veterans and 347 large families have collected lumpsum benefits at LPR welfare centres.
Humanitarian programme lumpsum payments amounting to 12,000 rubles are provided to World War II veterans and participants in the 1945 fighting with the Imperial Japan. Large families with three or more children under 18 years of age are entitled to 6,000-ruble benefit per family.
Earlier, the Ministry said that more than 400 residents of Kiev-held areas of the Lugansk region had received one-time payments under the welfare programme as of July 2.
The LPR Council of Ministers had approved the programme which named the groups of residents in Ukraine-controlled part of Donbass entitled to financial aid in 2018.
In 2017, the LPR Council of Ministers issued a resolution to pay 10,000-ruble Victory Day benefits to war veterans living in the Republic and Kiev-controlled areas of the Lugansk region.
On February 17, 2017 DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the program of humanitarian assistance for residents of Kiev-occupied part of Donbass. The main goal of the programme is to support socially vulnerable groups in Kiev-held areas. It envisions financial and medical aid and education services.
The LPR Telecom and Mass Communications Ministry launched the humanitarian programme website.
