LUGANSK, December 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic air defence forces shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a reconnaissance mission in the Kalinovka village area, LPR People’s Militia press service officer Ivan Filiponenko said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre.
“Thanks to skilful and well-organised actions of LPR air defence militiamen, a reconnoitering Phantom-2 type drone was spotted and shot down in the Kalinovka settlement area in the responsibility zone of the Ukrainian army’s 59th Brigade,” Filiponenko said.
Specialists are currently examining the Ukrainian UAV flash drive.
“We have passed the materials on crimes committed by 59th Brigade commander (Colonel Gennady) Shapovalov to the LPR Prosecutor General’s Office for attaching to the criminal case against him,” the press service officer said.
Earlier, Filiponenko said that the LPR militia had downed a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone in the Sokolniki area.
