LUGANSK, July 11 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic militiamen shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which Kiev forces had used to adjust fire at the Republic’ residential areas, LPR People’s Militia press service officer Ivan Filiponenko said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre.

“Over the past 24 hours, the enemy violated the ceasefire twice using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements,” Filiponenko said. “The Lozovoye and Nizhneye Lozovoye villages came under 120mm and 82mm mortar fire at the order by Ukrainian army’s 30th Brigade commander Ivan Garaz.”

During the shelling, the enemy used a fire-adjusting UAV which proved that the Republic’s settlements came under aimed fire.

The Ukrainian UAV was destroyed by well-organised air observation post personnel.” This lost war criminal Ivan Garaz another airborn surveillance asset. “Our specialists are examining photos and videos taken by the drone,” the press service officer added.

Earlier, LPR People’s Militia spokesman Yakov Osadchiy said that LPR air defence units had shot down four Ukrainian army drones on reconnaissance mission on the contact line..

The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on February 12, 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by Resolution 2202 and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.

The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
