LPR holds largest May 1 march ever - Trade Union Federation (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, May 1 (Lugansk Media Centre) - May 1 2018 march became the largest in the history of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Trade Union Federation chairman Oleg Akimov told the Lugansk Media Centre.
“A record number of people has taken part in the May 1 march this year since the establishment of our Republic,” Akimov said.
“According to preliminary estimates, more than 30,000 workers from all parts of the LPR walked across Lugansk’s central square. We already see that the attendance is far greater than last year,” the union leader said.
“During the May 1 procession, a display of specialised gas industry, emergency medicine, fire-fighting and farming equipment was arranged,” he said.
Representatives of Crimea, Astrakhan, Yuzhnaya Ossetia and Serbia took part in the march, Akimov added.
The Executive Committee of the Mir Luganschine social movement said that of more than 30,000 marchers, more than 25,000 were Mir Luganschine members.
Acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik who took part in the craft unions’ Peace March, wished the LPR residents a happy May 1 holiday.
