LUGANSK, May 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Utility tariffs are to remain low for LPR residents, and coal is to be provided for free for eligible residents, said LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik speaking at a meeting with legislative and executive officials on the results of the discussion of the LPR development Program-2023 named Our Choice.
"It is important that within the framework of the Program-2023 we are keeping low tariffs for public utility services and providing free 'social coal' to those categories of residents who were eligible to it before 2014."
He reminded that LPR utility tariffs are almost six times lower than in Ukraine, and it is important to "preserve this gap", he said.
LPR retirement benefits are to surpass the living wage by 2023, Pasechnik said. The pregnancy and maternity benefits will be raised to 10,000 rubles by 2023; social assistance to low-income families and single mothers will reach 5,000 rubles.
On March 14, acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said at a session of the Mir Luganschine Republican Council that LPR residents would be able to participate in working out the Republic’s five-year socio-economic development programme and offered Mir Luganschine to arrange a broad public discussion.
LPR residents can phone hotlines or visit the Mir Luganschine website to bring forward their proposals concerning the programme. They are also welcome to present them at all Mir Luganschine executive committees and grassroots across the Republic.
Mir Luganschine is the largest social movement in the LPR numbering more than 101,000 members. It was established before the election to LPR People’s Council on November 2, 2014. The Mir Luganschine candidates won 69.42 percent of votes finishing first in the election. Acting LPR head Leonid Pasechnik was unanimously elected chairman of the movement at its 3rd Republican Congress on February 17.
