LPR Head inspects Lugansk hospital for possible COVID-19 patients (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, March 25 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik has inspected the Lugansk Hospital No.4 to see if its ready to accept patients in case the COVID-19 infection appears in the LPR.
The World Health Organization called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus cases exceeded 375,000; of those more than 16,000 died. Coronavirus cases were reported in Ukraine and Russia.
Lugansk Hospital No.4 is one of the medical institutions designated to treat patients with COVID-19 if they appear.
The Health Minister Natalia Paschenko and the hospital dean Alexey Navrotskiy showed Pasechnik the hospital rooms prepared for such patients, medical equipment and medications storages.
"There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the LPR," Pasechnik said.
"We monitor patients who can possibly be infected as they arrived from affected countries," Pascehnko said.
Currently there are nearly 60 people under medical supervision.
"Isolation units, intensive care block with essential breathing machines and equipment for oxygen therapy are ready, intensive care and reanimation unit is ready if we have critical patients with respiratory failure," Navrotskiy said.
