LPR government bodies suspend reception of residents due to COVID-19

LUGANSK, March 24 (Lugansk Media Centre). Heads and deputy heads of Lugansk People’s Republic government bodies and the community liaison office of the Republic’s Head are suspending the scheduled appointments with citizens, as part of measures to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

“To prevent the spreading of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic, pursuant to LPR Head’s Order No UG 160/20 dated March 13, 2020 on high alert and Order No UG 181/20 on certain issues pertaining to the high alert regime, the heads and deputy heads of LPR regovernment bodies as well as the community liaison office of the LPR Head Administration are suspending all meetings with citizens,” the LPR leader’s website said.

“Despite these temporary preventive measures, citizens can fully realise their legitimate right of appeals to government bodies, and, if need be, mail them to 91016, Lugansk People’s Republic, Lugansk, 3 Great Patriotic War Heroes Square, or use LPR Head’s hotlines  (0642) 58-16-77, (0642) 58-19-88.

Residents can also phone (0642) 58-59-27, (0642) 50-21-17 to get a consultation.

The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019.  As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts is reaching 335,000; of those more than 14,000 died. Coronavirus cases were reported in Ukraine and Russia. No coronavirus cases were recorded in the LPR.
