LPR government approves employment programme for laid-off coalminers
LUGANSK, May 14 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic government approved a state goal-oriented programme to provide jobs to workers of loss-making coalmines which will be shut down, the LPR Labour and Social Policy Minister Svetlana Malakhova said at a press briefing at the Government House.
Earlier, the LPR government announced a coal industry restructuring programme. Its key objectives were set forth by LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik.
Malakhova said that vacancies would be offered by state-owned enterprises and public sector organisations. Employers get grants to compensate wages to the laid-off workforce and pay the Unified Social Tax. They will also get subsidies to create new jobs for personnel who have been made redundant due to the closure of their coal companies.
The Labour Ministry plans to propose the grant and subsidy procedures at the next government meeting, she said.
