LPR Foreign Ministry statement on “Sajdik’s Donbass plan”
LUGANSK, January 31 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Judging by Kurt Volker’s support of “Sajdik’s plan” which nearly everybody regarded as unacceptable, as was stated by UN Secretary General spokesman Stephane Dujarric, it becomes obvious that “the plan” was not designed by Mr Sajdik or the OSCE.
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik was only offered the unenviable role to voice the U.S. proposals.
Volker completely failed the talks over forcing the participation of a UN mission in “the settlement” of the Donbass conflict, hence his attempt to present the US State Department’s destructive ideas by proxy. Obviously, these ideas are aimed not at conflict settlement but at aggravating the situation in Donbass and mounting pressure on Russia in order to secure the next series of anti-Russian sanctions.
Such attempts are unlikely to succeed.
The Minsk Agreements, approved by a UN Security Council resolution and supported by the Normandy Four leaders have no alternative.
It is a hard fact to the whole international community, including Mr Sajdik, who said so in his statement following the Contact Group meeting on January 30. Even Mr Volker, despite the attempt to push through the plan for breaking up the Minsk process, has to acknowledge that the Minsk Agreements have no alternative.
