LUGANSK, March 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic farmers have begun spring sowing, the LPR Agriculture and Food Ministry reported.
“The first warm sunny days of the spring were a welcome beginning of field works,” the report said. “Krasnodon and Krasnodon district farmers launched the sowing of spring wheat and barely.”
LPR farmers launched spring field works on February 28.
Earlier, LPR Agriculture and Food Minister Yury Pronko said that the farmers had prepared 85 percent of tractors and 90 percent of tillage machinery.
LPR government chairman Sergey Kozlov said that food security was a priority for the Republic.
The LPR Agriculture and Food Ministry said that the Agrarian Fund state-owned enterprise had been taking requests from farmers for equipment and supplies which they needed for spring sowing.
