LPR engineers neutralise over 500 explosive hazards since the beginning of this year
LUGANSK, October 29 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry engineers have inspected more than 1,200 hectares of the Republic’s territory defusing over 500 explosive hazards since the beginning of this year, the LPR Emergencies Ministry press service reported.
“Over ten months of 2020, Emergencies Ministry engineer units completed more than 240 assignments across the LPR during which over 500 explosive hazards were found; 1,200 hectares of territory have been inspected,” the report said.
LPR engineers found 490 pieces of unexploded ordnance in the period from early 2020 through August 26, while in 2019, they neutralised 826 explosive hazards in the Republic.
The LPR Emergencies Ministry warned residents against acting on their own in case of finding suspicious objects and urged them to remember the location and report it by calling 101 or 102.
