LPR engineers demine some 500 hectares of farmland in 2020
LUGANSK, July 2 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry engineers have demined some 500 hectares of farmland since the beginning of this year, said LPR Emergencies Ministry Mine Clearance Department head Yevgeny Nesterov.
“Since the beginning of this year, LPR Emergencies Ministry engineers have checked 500 hectares of farmland where some 350 explosive hazards were found,” Nesterov said at the Rovenki administration’s Harvesting 2020 seminar. “All of them were retrieved and rendered harmless.”
Earlier, the LPR Emergencies Ministry reported that as of June 12, engineers had found 440 explosive hazards.
In 2019, LPR Emergencies Ministry engineers defused 826 explosive hazards in the Republic.
