LPR, DPR drawing list of joint projects for industrial companies

LUGANSK, February 9 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Industry and Trade Ministries of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics are drawing a list of promising joint projects for industrial companies.

“We’re preparing a list of joint projects for DPR and LPR industrial companies; after finalising it with Donetsk colleagues we’ll begin implementation of the “road map,” LPR Industry and Trade Minister Dmitriy Bozhic said at a meeting with his DPR colleague Alexey Granovskiy.

“We’re confident that there are many interesting and promising production initiatives that can help restore the industrial status of the whole Donbass,” Bozhic said.

In the course of the meeting, the officials considered the road map for interaction between the Republics’ industrial and trade companies.

“I wish to note, within the scope of the LPR-DPR Protocol of Intentions to establish common custom space, that DPR and LPR have a unique industrial and research potential,” Granovskiy said.  “To revive the old industrial ties, our Ministries are working on an interaction plan to expand the sales market for domestic products and the existing raw materials base.”

2017 trade turnover between the Republics increased two-fold from the previous year and eight-fold from 2015. “We expect a dramatic increase in two-way trade in the near future,” Granovskiy said.

He noted that the DPR and LPR would sign a memorandum of interaction in industry and trade shortly.

On 31 January, acting LPR head Leonid Pasechnik and DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko signed a protocol of intent to establish common customs space between the two Republics.

LPR Council of Ministers chairman Sergey Kozlov ordered to draw a plan of cooperation with DPR pursuant to the Protocol.

Kozlov said the signing of the document was the first step toward the establishment of uniform rules in all spheres of life in the Republics.
