LPR doctors provide childbirth assistance to 18 women from Kiev-held areas - official

LPR obstetricians provided childbirth assistance to 18 residents of Kiev-controlled areas of Lugansk Region as part of the Donbass People reunification humanitarian programme, said LPR Council of Ministers acting Deputy Chairman Alexander Drobot.

“Eighteen women have received obstetric care since the launch (of the humanitarian program - eds Lugansk Media Centre),” Drobot told the Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday.

“Sixty percent of women are admitted in very serious condition, and Mr. Valiyev (Lugansk Perinatal Centre chief doctor Oleg Valiyev - eds Lugansk Media Centre) and his team have to work hard to bring them back to normal condition,” he said.

Earlier reports said LPR obstetricians saved a pregnant woman and her baby after she had been denied medical assistance in Kiev-controlled part of the region.

On February 17 DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the program of humanitarian assistance for residents of Kiev-occupied part of Donbass.  The main objective is to provide financial, educational and medical aid to vulnerable social groups.

LPR Telecom and Mass Communications Ministry launched the humanitarian program website.
