LPR Council of Ministers raises pensions by 10 percent
LUGANSK, June 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic Council of Ministers has passed a resolution to raise LPR residents’ retirement benefits by 10 percent starting July 1, the Republic’s Pension Fund reported.
“Beginning from July 1, 2018, the amount of retirement benefits paid to the Lugansk People’s Republic residents will increase by 10 percent. The LPR Council of Ministers passed the relevant resolution at the June 12 meeting,” the report said.
The measure also applies to each disabled family member drawing a pension on account of the loss of the bread winner. The citizens drawing temporary pensions after discharge from military service and some other persons listed in the LPR Council of Ministers resolution are not entitled to pension rise, the Pension Fund said.
Earlier, LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said that the Republic had the resources to raise the minimum pension payments by 10 percent in 2018.
He also said that the minimum pension in the Republic would exceed the subsistence level by the year 2023.
At the meeting on December 19, 2017, the LPR Council of Ministers adopted a resolution raising the sum of retirement benefits to 2,904 rubles for the people who had been drawing pensions below that amount.
