LUGANSK, February 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic Council of Ministers passed the resolution approving the programme on the provision of free medical assistance in 2019 to the population of the Donbass areas temporarily controlled by Ukraine.
The document says that “the LPR’s key task is to preserve and improve the health of the LPR population and the residents of the Donbass areas temporarily held by Ukraine.”
“In 2017, 310 residents of the Ukraine-controlled parts of Donbass requested medial assistance under the aegis of the programme, while in 2018, their number increased to 2,308. It shows that the programme provides the opportunity to Kiev-held areas residents to get quality free medical assistance; it is in demand and has to continue throughout 2019,” the resolution said.
The programme’s key objectives is to create the condition to ensure the availability and quality of medical assistance to the population in Kiev-held areas of Donbass in such fields as
childbirth, including surgical procedure
adult oncology, including surgery
multiple sclerosis in adults
intraocular lens implantation
adult outpatient and inpatient services
children outpatient and inpatient services
The medical assistance under the programme is provided free of charge.
On February 17, 2017 the DPR and LPR Heads approved the program of humanitarian assistance to residents in the Kiev-controlled part of Donbass. The main goal of the programme is to support socially vulnerable groups in Kiev-held areas. It envisions financial and medical aid and education services.
