LUGANSK, April 10 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic authorities, in the course of public discussion of the Republic’s five-year development programme, want to hear about all problems faced by different groups of the population, acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said at a meeting with teachers at Taras Shevchenko Lugansk National University on Tuesday.
On March 14, Pasechnik said at a session of the “Mir Luganschine” social movement’s Republican Council that LPR residents would be able to participate in working out the Republic’s five-year socio-economic development programme and offered Mir Luganschine to arrange a broad public discussion.
“I really want to hear all problems faced by all social groups,” Pasechnik said. “I think our dialogue will be useful to all of us, because much depends on what we do.”
“In the course of Programme 2023 discussion, LPR authorities want to identify all problems and proposals that have to be settled together in order to raise the level of teaching and education of our young people, including patriotic upbringing,” the LPR leader said.
Education is the starting point, crucial for many things; the economic and political development of the Republic and its future depend on the kind of children we bring up and the quality of higher education provided by LPR universities, Pasechnik said.
LPR residents can phone hotlines or visit the Mir Luganschine website to bring forward their proposals concerning the programme. They are also welcome to present them at all Mir Luganschine executive committees across the Republic.
Mir Luganschine is the largest social movement in the LPR numbering more than 101,000 members. It was established before the election to LPR People’s Council on November 2, 2014. The Mir Luganschine candidates won 69.42 percent of votes finishing first in the election. Acting LPR head Leonid Pasechnik was unanimously elected chairman of the movement at its 3rd Republican Congress on February 17.
