LPR and DPR belong to united Donbass - Zakharchenko
LUGANSK, May 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The LPR and the DPR are parts of a united Donbass, said DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko attending the celebrations of the LPR Independence Day in Lugansk.
Earlier he met his Lugansk counterpart Leonid Pasechnik.
"This is the first official meeting at such an event. To be honest, I am happy to have arrived here. We are showing the whole world that Donetsk and Lugansk are one and the same territory, one and the same country, which is Donbass. Donbass has never been separated; the two republics are two fraternal nations."
The Independence Day is celebrated in the LPR on May 12, while DPR marks its independence a day earlier. The referendum on Donbass indolence took place on May 11, 2014 on the territory of the republics and in some Kiev-controlled towns. The turnout was 81 percent in the LPR and 75 percent in the DPR, 96.2 percent of LPR participants and 89.7 percent of DPR voters have chosen independence.
The Republics declared their state sovereignty on May 12, 2014.
