LUGANSK, May 9 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik headed the “Immortal Regiment” column of 50 thousand people commemorating the 73rd anniversary of Victory Day in Lugansk.

"The mood is to celebrate, it is our holiday, our Victory! This is the Victory of our grandfathers and great grandparents, this is our history and we shall not allow anyone to re-write it," he said.

"I present the portrait of my grandfather, Pasechnik Sergey Sviridovich. He participated in the Winter (Finnish) War and in the Great Patriotic War, he was injured and suffered concussion, but he made it to Berlin," Pasechnik said.

"I am proud of my great grandfather and I will not allow anyone to call somebody a hero if it is not related to our honorary veterans," he added referring to a notorious Ukrainian maidan slogan.

Earlier in the day, the Victory Parade walked along the streets of Lugansk, commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the Soviet Union Victory over the Nazi Germany.
