Kiev refuses to support declaration against tortures - Kobtseva
LUGANSK, July 25 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Kiev's representative at the humanitarian group at the Minsk talks Irina Geraschenko refused to support the declaration tabled by the OSCE representative at the Minsk talks Toni Frisch, banning tortures and violence against civilians by the hands of security forces, said LPR representative in the Contact Group humanitarian subgroup Olga Kobtseva.
Earlier she told Lugansk Media Center that Geraschenko showed up late, went on with anti-Russia rhetoric, insulted the DPR representative Daria Morozova and left the meeting.
While she was still present, the issue of the declaration was brought up. "Ukraine represented by Geraschenko has not supported the declaration," Kobtseva said.
She added that the Republics made a statement saying they it was useless to continue dialog today in the absence of Kiev's authorized representative.
"Only experts were present, who are not authorized to make decisions." According to one of the Ukrainian experts Sergey Zagorodniy explained that he and his colleagues were authorized to present 'informational position' only.
