Kiev deploys commandoes in Russian military uniforms to Schastye - LPR People’s Militia
Lugansk, June 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Kiev forces in the so-called “joint forces operation” zone plan to stage provocations using Russian military uniforms, LPR People’s Militia’s spokesman Andrey Marochko said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre on Tuesday.
“Local residents said a group of Ukrainian servicemen clad in Russian military uniforms had arrived at the Schastye settlement. They were seen toting special weapons,” Marochko said.
“We expect provocations with the view of accusing the People’s Militia and Russian servicemen of terrorist attacks and violence against “Lugansk region” residents,” he said.
“Ukrainian provocations might make groundwork for the information campaign to discredit the LPR and the Russian Federation,” the spokesman said.
Earlier, Marochko said that he did not rule out provocations by Ukrainian forces in connection with the presence in the so-called “joint forces operation” zone of 16 Ukrainian news agencies representatives working towards smearing the leadership of the Donbass Republics.
The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on February 12, 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by its 2202 Resolution and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.
The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
