Kiev continues war against Donbass following Washington's guidelines - Russian political expert
LUGANSK, May 27 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Alexey Chesnakov, political scientist and director of the Center for Current Politics, told Russian "Komsomolskaya Pravda" newspaper that the new Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky ignores the will of Ukrainian people to stop Donbass war.
"Opinion polls show that the majority of Ukrainians are for a peaceful settlement and do not mind Donbass autonomy," Chesnakov said.
According to the political expert, the reason behind Zelensky's reluctance to end war is that "certain politicians are afraid of unrestrained nationalists".
"It is also a matter of habit to follow Washington's guidelines, while it is interested in Ukraine's instability. While Ukraine is unstable it is obedient and under control. Its problems, created by the US itself, are used as a pretext to Russia's deterrence."
