Kiev carries on Donbass conflict, toes western supervisors’ line - Pasechnik
LUGANSK, November 27 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Ukraine keeps fighting in Donbass as it obeys the instructions of its western supervisors, Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Pasechnik said during the Direct Line question and answer session on Wednesday.
An LPR resident asked him when the armed conflict would end in Donbass and who benefited from its escalation.
“Who needs this war? I can tell you who definitely don’t need it: ordinary people living in the LPR and in all Kiev-controlled areas,” Pasechnik said. “Apparently, the war is needed by Ukrainian policymakers, oligarchs and their supervisors who live in Europe and America. They find the war handy, and Kiev carries on fighting in our territory, on the contact line, as it implements their instructions.”
He noted that the LPR had always insisted on the soonest peace-making in Donbass and full adherence to the Minsk Agreements.
“Regrettably, Ukraine won’t implement these decisions, so today, we cannot say when the war will end, but we’re ready for negotiations and implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
Residents of 19 countries forwarded more than 3,700 questions to the LPR head for the current Direct Line session, the organisers said.
Pasechnik’s "Direct Line" in August gathered more than 2,300 questions from residents of 35 Ukrainian settlements.
