Italy’s Banda Bassotti gives V-Day concert in Stakhanov
LUGANSK, May 10 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Italian antifascist group Banda Bassotti gave a Victory Day concert in Stakhanov which drew large crowds or residents and guests, the Lugansk People’s Republic Trade Unions Federation told the Lugansk Media Centre.
“The Novorossiya military ensemble also took part in the show held in the Gornyak Culture and Leisure Park,” it said.
The band performed songs in its repertoire and at the close sang “Katyusha,” one of best-known Russian songs together with the spectators in Russian and Italian.
Banda Bassotti leader David Cacchione said that it was the group’s fourth visit to Donbass.
“Last year, we performed in Krasnodon to mark the Young Guards resistance movement jubilee, and now we’ve visited the native land of Alexey Stakhanov. Viewers sang along and danced; we felt their response all the time. We’ll certainly visit the Republic again to continue the Antifascist Caravan project,” the musician said.
The pro-Donbass Italian rockers congratulated all LPR residents on Victory Day and wished them a clear peaceful sky.
A fireworks show was arranged after the concert.
Earlier, Cacchione said that Banda Bassotti planned to perform at the Victory Day concert in Stakhanov
