Intl community doesn’t approve of Kiev’s military rhetoric - LPR People’s Militia

LUGANSK, September 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The international community does not approve of Kiev’s military rhetoric with respect to Donbass, LPR People’s Militia’s spokesman Andrey Marochko told a news briefing at Lugansk Media Centre on Thursday.

Ukrainian Deputy Minister for Issues of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yuriy Grymchak alleged on ‘Your Freedom’ programme on 5 September that Ukrainian armed forces could “liberate” the LPR and DPR territories within seven to ten days.

“Over the recent period, only lazy persons in the territory of Ukraine have not been making forecasts about the Donbass military operation,” Marochko said.

“We would warn the Ukrainian politicians against making loud statement because the international community’s comments on Ukraine’s actions in the east of the country are no longer that friendly as it calls for a peaceful settlement of the conflict,” he said.

“In case of the use of force scenario, LPR People’s Militia will not allow the aggressor to kill LPR citizens with impunity,” the spokesman said.

The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on 12 February 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by its 2202 Resolution and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.

The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
