ICRC distributes 152 tons of humanitarian aid, enlarges heating center at Stanitsa in November
LUGANSK, December 4 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) distributed 152 tons of humanitarian assistance to the residents of Lugansk city and its districts in November 2017, the organization said in the press statement released to Lugansk Media Center.
"5,100 residents of vulnerable categories, who are under Local RC patronage in Pervomaisk, Slavyanoserbsk, Perevalsk, Lutugino, Krasnodon, Kirovsk, Stakhanov, Sverdlovsk, Krasniy Luch, Rovenki towns received one food and one hygiene parcel from the ICRC. Moreover, the ICRC donated disposable material for blood banks in Lugansk and its branches. Feldscher-obstetrical points in Oboznoe, Smeloye, Veselaya Gora and ambulatories in Frunze and Zheltoe villages received another bunch of medical supplies for chronical disease treatment of the patients of these villages," the ICRC said.
54 tons of fuel briquettes were given by the ICRC to families of one of the villages of Pervomaisk district, located on the line of contact.
Apart from this, the ICRC distributed 4,500 mine waring sings and doubled the size of the heating point in order to increase its capacity to serve people queuing to cross Stanitsa Luganska crossing point.
