Heat supply resumed to 330 houses in Alchevsk – town administration
LUGANSK, December 31 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Heat supply has been resumed to 330 houses in Alchevsk where heat network accidents occurred earlier, the town administration reported.
“As of 12:00, December 31, heat transfer agent had been supplied to 330 houses in Alchevsk,” the report said.
Two pipe ruptures in the morning of December 27 left without heat 386 houses and a number of social and cultural facilities. The crisis headquarters included officials from the town administration, the Emergencies Ministry, the Fuel and Energy Ministry, the Housing and Public Utilities Ministry, the Luganskgaz state-owned enterprises, the RSK state unitary enterprise and LPR deputy prime minister Yelena Kostenko.
Earlier, the Alchevsk administration said that heat transfer agent had been pumped into the water mains following completion of the welding works.
In late January 2006, a large trunk pipe accident in Alchevsk left more than 70,000 people in nearly 700 houses without heat in severe frost. By February 10, heat supply had not been resumed to one-third of dwellings. Russia sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including 40 heavy-duty fan heaters which could quickly raise temperature in large rooms. Repairs lasted more than a month.
