LUGANSK, September 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The president of the International Film Festival Zolotoy Vityaz (Golden Knight), member of the Patriarch's Council on Culture and Russia’s People’s Artist Nikolay Burlyayev donated to the Lugansk People’s Republic 100 films from the Festival’s stock for free screening.
“I have good news for you. I’m very grateful to my friend (Lugansk Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre art director) Ukrainian and LPR People’s Artist Mikhail Golubovich for opening the Golden Knight Film Club here; at that time we gave him some 50 films,” Burlyayev said.
“Today, I brought another 100 films to you as a gift for free screening,” he said adding that “they addressed various topics.”
The documentaries outnumber other genres, because there aren’t many good feature films. As for documentaries, some are true masterpieces,” Burlyayev said.
“Screen the films I’ve brought you. You can have them re-recorded so that each family has them,” he said.
The Russian People’s Artist also said that he planned to bring more films to the Republic from the Golden Knight’s stock.
“I’ll bring more when you’re done with these; we’ve shown 8,500 films at the Golden Knight Festival over 27 years since it was launched, so we have a lot to offer you,” Burlyayev said.
