Fires claim two lives, destroy almost 220 houses in LPR in September
LUGANSK, October 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) – More than 1.7 thousand fires were registered in the LPR in September, blazes destroyed 217 houses and buildings and killed two people, the head of Civil Defense department of the Ministry of Emergencies Col. Andrey Buryak said.
"In September, 1,722 fires were registered in open territory affecting the total of 4,353 ha. Two people died in blazes, two were injured, 217 houses and buildings were destroyed."
He urged LPR resident to be cautious.
Massive wildfires also affect Ukraine. Blazes claimed 11 lives, 19 people were injured, 150 evacuated. The total of 20,000 ha of lands have been affected, 1,300 firefighters and 270-plus pieces of equipment are engaged in responding to the emergency, including three An-32P aircrafts and two helicopters.
