Fires claim 30 lives in 2020 - Ministry of Emergencies
LUGANSK, March 25 (Lugansk Media Centre) - LPR firefighters extinguished more than 1,000 blazes in the first months of 2020, the fires claimed more than 30 lives, the LPR deputy Minister of Emergencies, Civil Defense Col. Valery Vikhtar said.
"Since the beginning of the year, 31 people died in blaze, all the victims were killed in residential areas.”
He urged everyone to be cautious when handling fire, matches or when smoking.
The Ministry warns that the most widespread cause of blazes is negligence when smoking or consuming alcohol, careless handling of electrical devices or violation of fire-safety norms.
