Dutch journalist on elections in Ukraine: Western democracy is an illusion
"Elections in the circumstances of a civil-war, fraud, bribery, intimidation, and even murder can never be democratic. And yet this is the real situation in Ukraine, the evidence for these criminal activities is clear. By all standards of local and international law, these elections should be condemned as illegal and invalid. But as we shall see is that this criminal election and its results will be recognized as "valid" by the international community (namely the EU and the US).
"We all know about the Maidan regime-change and the recent attempt for regime overturn in Venezuela. Almost all mass-media around the world portrait the undemocratic and illegal regime-changes as a good thing. So what can we expect from the Western world? Nothing good, for sure. And what choice do Ukrainian people have? Criminal Poroshenko, criminal Timoshenko and Vladimir Zelenskiy, a comedian. Zelensky is backed by the criminal oligarch Igor Kolomoyskyi. Kolomoyskyi who stole 1.8 billion dollars from IMF money meant for the Ukrainian population. Kolomoyskyi who has his own private army. The "Dnipro-1" Regiment also nicknamed Kolomoyskyi's battalion. If the comedian Zelenskiy wins the election than the influence of Kolomoyskyi will rise significantly. Let's not forget, following the 2014 reunification of Crimea with Russia the Crimean assets of Kolomoyskyi have been nationalized; according to Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov this was "totally justified due to the fact that Kolomoyskyi is one of the initiators and financiers of the special anti- terrorist operation against Donbass. In response Kolomoyskyi has filed a complaint against Russia at the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
"All in all, I am not optimistic, I see no quick solution for the civil-war and no improvements for the Ukrainian population."
