Deinego's comment concerning the composition of the Contact Group
LUGANSK, February 20 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR Foreign Minister representing the Republic at Minsk Agreements Vladislav Deinego said that the structure of the Contact Group is defined by the format of the Minsk Agreements.
Earlier Ukraine's representative in the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the Donbass crisis Yevgeniy Marchuk said that the LPR and DPR are not members of the Contact Group and the Republics' representatives are invited to its meetings only if some issues arise.
"The structure of the Contact Group is defined by the format of the Minsk Agreements, signed by five sides: the OSCE, Russia, Ukraine, Lugansk and Donetsk," Deinego said.
"The functions of the Contact Group's members are as follows: the OSCE and Russia are mediators, Ukraine is one side of the conflict, the Republics are the other side of the conflict.
"The Package of Measures approved by the UN Resolution 2202 (2015) points out the primary condition: direct dialog with the Donbass representatives, it is mandatory to coordinate all settlement issues with the Republics."
