Deinego: The U.S. de-facto recognizes LPR Bank by sanctioning it
LUGANSK, June 24 (Lugansk Media Center) – The U.S. Department of the Treasury has de-facto recognized LPR's Ministry of Finance by sanctioning it, said LPR envoy to Minsk negotiations Vladislav Deinego.
The US Treasury has added 38 people and entities to a list of sanctions targets in a bid to tighten sanctions on Donbass, including LPR Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Kornet, State Security Minister Leonid Pasechnik, the minister of the Council of Ministers Natalia Khorsheva and the LPR State Bank.
"The fact of official recognition of LPR's financial institution by the US is a great leap forward," Deinego said.
"If the US includes an institution in a sanction list it acknowledges its existence, and try to prevent any interaction with it. This is an important issue, as they recognize our bank's existence."
Deinego said he hoped that sanctions wouldn't prevent the reconstruction of the LPR's financial system "as provided by the Minsk Agreements".
