Census results to be announced in 2020 - State Statistics Committee
LUGANSK, October 16 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR State Statistics Committee is planning to summarize the results of the general population census no earlier than Q2 2020, the committee's chairman Irina Shabliyenko said.
"Summarizing the results is not easier than carrying out the census. In accordance with the Government's decision the results will be announced no earlier than Q2 2020."
Control polling will take place from October 15 to October 18; census takes and inspectors shall visit one tenth of the households recorded in the census to check whether entries are correct.
According to the LPR Council of Ministers’ resolution, the door-to-doll poll ran from October 1 to October 14, 2019.
The LPR State Statistics Committee opened a hotline for residents for enquiries concerning census takers’ identity and opened census centres across the Republic.
The census centres addresses are available at the websites of the State Statistics Committee and LPR municipal administrations as well as in mass media. The census centres are open from 08:00 to 20:00.
The census targets LPR residents, foreign nationals and stateless persons staying in the LPR territory, as well as permanent residents staying outside the LPR as of the time of the poll.
It does not cover the foreign nationals enjoying immunity or privileges in accordance with LPR international agreements.
Earlier, State Statistics Committee chairwoman Irina Shabliyenko said that the census data would make groundwork for LPR budgeting, justifying the Republic’s socio-economic development strategy, demographic trend analysis and development and implementation of demographic, social, cultural and educational programs.
