Brazilian observer: World will recognize LPR if it protects its interests
LUGANSK, November 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The international community will have to recognize the LPR if its residents keep defending their interests, Brazilian journalist and international observer at LPR elections Humberto Carvalho told Lugansk Media Center.
"These elections are important for the country's legitimization. Despite all the pressing from the American imperialism aimed at the Republic and its surroundings, the elections are necessary to show the world that it is a truly People's Republic, and to build the Republic."
"If you keep on fighting for your interests, the world will have to recognize your legitimacy."
Carvalho said that the LPR election system is democratic and internationally accepted. He added that the leadership elections do not contradict the Minsk Agreements as the document contains provisions for local elections only.
"I visited Krasnodon and Stakhanov together with my collages. We were told about the preparations in every detail, shown how the territorial election commission works, saw that some stations are already ready. We were astonished that all our questions had been answered, everything is transparent and open, and there are no secrets. It is another proof of the democratic way the LPR is taking, the authorities making sure every person's voice is heard."
Carvalho said he met a lot of brave people in Donbass and "saw a great love for culture".
