Base metals, products thereof make up 73 pct of LPR exports - Customs Committee
LUGANSK, December 24 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Base metals and products thereof make up 73 percent of the Lugansk People’s Republic exports, LPR State Customs Committee acting chairman Yury Afanasyevskiy said at a press briefing at the House of Government.
“In 2019, the LPR increased exports by 33.1 percent and imports by 30.9 percent year-on-year,” Afanasyevskiy said. “The growth largely occurred due to the launching and development of production facilities in the Republic’s territory.”
“For example, base metals and products thereof are the largest export item (accounting for some 73 percent). This is the result of operation of our metallurgical companies. The largest import item is raw materials making up 36 percent of this commodity group, he said.
In 2019, the Republic’s trade turnover increased by nearly 32 percent year-on-year, according to Afanasyevskiy.
