Authorities unable to evacuate people, as Kiev forces target civilian objects in Donetskiy
LUGANSK, June 7 (Lugansk Media Center) – Authorities are unable to evacuate children from Donetskiy township outside Kirovsk, as intense shelling by Ukrainian forces is ongoing, said local administration head Gennadiy Kartsev.
"People cannot go out to the street as the shelling is ongoing; they are bound to shelters.Ukrainian military deliberately shell social objects, houses, kindergartens."
"We are ready to evacuate (people), but Ukrainians don't hear us, they keep shelling us, and we cannot start evacuation."
"We are ready to evacuate children of 12 families, but these are only those we were able to contact."
Kartsev said authorities plan to place children from Donetskiy and Golubovskoye in summer camps in Kirovsk.
This morning Kiev forces launched an offensive on Kirovsk, subjecting the town to 122mm artillery shelling and causing massive damage. Further on Donetskiy, Stakhanov and Frunze townships came under heavy fire; over 20 buildings have been damaged. LPR People's Militia has repulsed several waves of attacks.
The members of the Contact Group have announced ceasefire for more than ten times since autumn 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce opening fire with heavy artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn in accordance with the Minsk agreements.
The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on 12 February 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by its 2202 Resolution and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.
The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
