Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works launches blast furnace No.5 (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, December 18 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works launched its blast furnace No.5 after almost a yearlong standstill.
LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik, LPR Council of Ministers chairman, the plant management and Alchevsk administration members have participated in the event.
"I would like to congratulate all the residents, this is the biggest plant in the LPR, I think," Pasechnik said.
"This is a symbolic event: it has both political and economic importance. The economic aspect is that my key task is to raise living standards in the LPR, for all the residents. My team and me are doing our best to launch enterprises which are left in the Republic."
Alchevsk Iron & Steel Works is one of the oldest companies of Donbass. It is the company of integrated production cycle and it has its own in-house coke-making production facilities.
