Agro-Yug doubles poultry production in 2018 - LPR Agriculture Ministry
LUGANSK, November 8 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Agro-Yug, known as the Chernukhino poultry farm, increased production by 2.1 times in the first ten months of 2018 year-on-year, the Lugansk People’s Republic Agriculture and Food Ministry said.
“Poultry production increased by 2.1 times in the first ten months of this year, compared with the same period last year,” the Ministry said.
Ministry experts expect the trend to continue in 2019.
Earlier, a Ministry report said that Agro-Yug boosted poultry production by 1.8 times in the first nine months of 2018.
The company launched 11 new poultry houses to increase monthly production to 600 tons in the 4th quarter of this year. Production in 2018 will reach 3.400 tons, a nearly two-fold increase from the previous year.
In July 2017, the LPR Council of Ministers appointed temporary administration to run Agro-Yug. In early October 2017, the Council of Ministers approved a programme to restore Agro-Yug’s operation under temporary administration in 2017-2018.
Thanks to normalisation measures, the company plans to boost production and create additional jobs.
LPR Agriculture and Food Minister Yuriy Pronko said that Agro-Yug’s full-fledged operation allowed to meet one-third of the Republic’s demand for poultry.
