604 COVID-19 cases confirmed in LPR - Health Ministry
LUGANSK, July 23 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic medics confirmed 604 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“As of 09:00, July 23, the LPR had 604 confirmed COVID-19 patients,” the report said. “A total of 540 persons have recovered and left hospitals since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.”
No COVID-19-related deaths have been reported since Wednesday. Fifteen people have died since the beginning of the pandemic.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts has exceeded 14.7 million; of those, over 612,000 have died. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 601 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and changed the mode of operation of government bodies, companies, organisations and transport. As present, most of restrictions have been eased due to the improving COVID-19 situation.
The Republic’s Healthcare Ministry said that the coronavirus situation in the LPR had fully stabilised and that it was under government and medics’ control.
