LPR holds military parade to commemorate the Victory Day (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, Jun 24 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Pasechnik said during the Victory Day parade that took place in Lugansk on Wednesday that the fight against Ukrainian fascism had proved that LPR is undefeatable.
"Our army has been proving that (we are winners) since 2014. There is no power and will be no power to defeat our people. Victory will be ours!" he said.
The Victory Day is celebrated on May 9 in Russia and post-Soviet countries, while Europeans mark it on May 8, due to the fact that the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender took place late on May 8 in Karlshorst, Berlin, when it was already May 9 in Moscow.
This year the parade was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The V-Day has become one of the most important days on the year calendar in Russia and Post-Soviet countries, as the WWII, the deadliest military conflict in human history, claimed at least 26.6 million lives of Soviet warriors and civilians, and a total of 70-85 million people perished in its inferno.
Many Western researchers admit that the Red Army was the main engine of Nazism's destruction and played the major role in curbing Hitler's initiative to depopulate whole swaths of Europe as a site for German Lebensraum.
